allabinaLCE WORLD CUP MUSEUM IN THE MAKING
At this year’s Cityscape Qatar, the Libyan/British joint venture architecture practice, allabinaLCE, are pleased to announce the launch of their unique innovative concept design for the Qatar World Cup Museum.
Te spectacular concept has been identified, created and designed by architects Walid El Turki and Mark Keville of allabinaLCE architects. Once the museum is built, it will stand as a ‘Live Media Box’, a living clock by counting down to the kick off in 2022, celebrating each of the previous tournaments through the digital recreation of games and
events, showcasing the unique spirit of the World Cup. While celebrating the beautiful game of football, the museum is simultaneously promoting Qatar as the host of the prestigious tournament, highlighting the state’s increasing importance as a global sporting destination.
On the outside, larger than life media screens will show all past World Cup tournaments as the countdown to 2022 while the rectangular media feed at the top of the building will act as a billboard for the countdown, giving the latest news on the run up to and during the games.
Divided into ten distinctive zones, the museum allows its visitors to experience the captivating atmosphere of the World Cup:
HISTORY OF FOOTBALL ZONE – Unveil the history of the game with interactive areas INTERACTIVE GAMES ZONE – Experience the beautiful game first hand MEDIA ZONE – Learn about broadcasting of the game, commentary and analysis SCIENCE ZONE – Learn about the strategy of the game, fitness, development and design of the kit CORPORATE ZONE & REASEARCH ZONE RELAX / DINING ZONE – Shop, eat and relax while watching football SPORT ZONE – Train your kick at mini pitches WORLD FOOTBAL ZONE – Discover the world football leagues LAGACY / VISION ZONE – Watch the countdown and learn about Qatar’s plans and the Middle East’s legacy
allabinaLCE World Cup Museum is a unique destination, dedicated to promoting Qatar’s successful bid to the 2022 World Cup as well as to the fascinating opportunities the world’s fastest growing economy has to offer. A building to celebrate the past, present and future of the World Cup.
