CALLING your first single ‘Say My Name’ might sound a bit optimistic but there can’t be many EDM fans who don’t now have the name of 19-year-old Porter Robinson on their lips. Having topped the Beatport and iTunes dance charts, remixed Lady Gaga and Avicii, and toured the world alongside the likes of Tiësto, it looks like there’s no stopping him in the year that he finally graduates from his teens.


Cast as one of the creators of complextro, a variation on electro known for its intricate


edits and interplay of melody, he already has seven years of production under his belt. Current single ‘Language’ steps into more festival-friendly, anthemic territory, as do tracks such as Mat Zo’s remix of ‘Lifted’ and Afternova’s ‘Serenity’, remixed by Andy Blueman.


But he hasn’t lost any of his youthful fire. Gesaffelstein’s ‘Variations’ is a slice of brooding French techno while the staccato industrial pounding of Zedd lives up to its name of ‘Shotgun’.
