“Getting back together with those people who were a part of the Opening Ceremonies was a highlight, but it was also great to share the spirit of the Games with those who haven’t yet experienced it. It showed them that it’s possible to make it to the Olympics,” Sherrard said.

Olympic champion Kristi Yamaguchi wasn’t the only author signing autographs at the 2012 Pru- dential U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose, Calif. Joanne Vassallo Jamrosz signed auto- graphs for her book titled Still Skating Forward: Amazing People Celebrating Life and Skating. The book, which debuted at the event, con- tains life stories of Olympic, World and up-and- judges. The stories range from encouraging to hu- morous and teach about persistence and achiev- ing personal goals. “The stories in Still Skating Forward-
