Intersport primed to Pole-Volt

ntersport is currently running an exclusive
in-store offer on the Asics Gel-Volt 33 from Asics’ natural running collection. Asics has supplied a range of tailored point of sale marketing material in over 60 Intersport stores across the country. This includes a variety of window banners, floor stickers, installations and posters. The activity has also been supported with a variety of consumer advertising campaigns in Men’s and Women’s Running and Irish Running. The Gel-Volt 33 is designed to offer protection, flexibility, comfort and support in a more natural form. The Volt has been designed to work with your foot, enhancing the natural motion in every stride point. The shoe also includes a lower, more
flexible midsole to give you a more natural road feel and running experience, while a 10mm heel drop puts you in a suitable biomechanical position for your foot. “Intersport is a key retail
partner for Asics in the UK and Ireland said Glenn Housten, Sales Director, Asics UK and Ireland. “With natural running and our 33 collection an important growth area for the brand this year and throughout 2013, the campaign we are running is a great way of bringing the two together. We are already seeing some great results and are looking forward to continuing to work together closely with Intersport.” The campaign also
involves out of home advertising around the top 10 stores in the UK as well as in Dublin, Galway and Limerick.
TGW gets Intersport in Poland
◆ TGW Logistics Group has designed and installed an automated warehousing solution to support Intersport’s expansion in Poland.
◆ In Poland, Intersport currently has 31 stores and is opening new stores at a rate of between two to five per year.
◆ To accommodate this growth, the company has commissioned a new 2,600 sq m distribution centre in Cholerzyn near Krakow, to handle the storage and distribution of more than 50,000 stock keeping units, from small sports equipment to oversize goods.
◆ This measure should hopefully see Inersport significantly improve the flow of products into and out of the warehouse and it has also been designed to accommodate continued growth in Intersport’s Polish business over the next 10 years.
