New transmitter for CO2 otronic is expanding its

range of products with CO2 transmitters. This solution

is the answer to many requests from customers, who can now choose from completely new measuring parameters. The CO2

transmitters raise

energy saving efficiency, analyse indoor air, and monitor CO2

levels in

underground parking facilities and tunnels. CO2

is a colourless and odourless

gas that can be detected with the proper measuring equipment. A high concentration of CO2

can be a danger to people and animals, and levels

measurements

can even be life threatening. The new transmitters detect these situations before they pose a risk. Effective countermeasures can therefore be initiated to reduce CO2

The wide range of CO2 measuring instruments means

that customers can choose the product that provides the greatest benefits for their application. The devices can be used for

regulating ventilation in living areas,

offices, classrooms, cinemas, and hospitals, and for measuring CO2

pollution in garages, tunnels, and logistics facilities. Rotronic also provides P

Non-contacting shaft sealing A non-contacting shaft sealing solution,

roduct handling applications, like mixers, blenders, agitators and rotary feed valves, often suffer from

product loss and contamination due to ineffective sealing on the shaft. Ineffective shaft sealing leads to higher production costs, increased maintenance, environmental concerns and unsafe working conditions. Traditional shaft

sealing methods use contact against the shaft to seal the vessel from product

loss and contamination. Over time, the sealing interface wears at the point of contact, and the seal becomes ineffective and needs replacement. The short and unpredictable service life of contact seals makes them inadequate methods of reliably sealing these applications.

like the Inpro/Seal Air Mizer, offers permanent sealing on product handling applications. The Air Mizer directs small amounts of air through a precision clearance between the throttle and the shaft, pressurising the clearance to seal against both product leakage and contamination. This non-contacting and non-wearing technology is

maintenance free and designed to last the lifetime of the equipment.

Its unique custom engineered design fully articulates to accommodate radial and angular shaft movement and shaft run-out. ■

Dewpoint and pressure measurements F

or the first time, dewpoint and pressure are measured simultaneously allowing for real-time pressure compensations

for calculations of ppm or atmospheric dewpoint, meaning separate conversions are no longer required to take pressure changes into account. It also means that no ambiguity exists in the information, making the data reliable

measuring instruments for control of incubators and climatic chambers. The key specifications: The method used to measure carbon dioxide (CO2

) is based on

the NDIR (Nondispersive infrared) principle; and the sensors are all calibrated, and with an autocalibration function will operate for many years without maintenance. The measuring range is 0-40,000 ppm (0-4%vol), the operating range is 0-50°C / 0-95% humidity; a relay and alarm are fitted as standard. ■

Alternative to fluoropolymer heating cables in the T4 temperature class

B

artec has completed its portfolio of heating cables for electric trace heating: the newly developed, self-

limiting MSB heating cables close the gap between currently available self-limiting PSB and HSB heating cables. They are suitable for use in the T4 temperature class (94/9/ EG). The maximum operating temperature is +110 °C when on and +130 °C when off. In contrast to standard fluoropolymer

heating cables, the investment costs are considerably lower in a MSB heating circuit. The new development also provides clear savings over the entire lifecycle. Thanks to the TPC sheathing, the heating cables are resistant to corrosion and the chemical effects of oils, lubricants and many other chemicals. In addition to the heating cables,

BARTEC also offers the compatible connection technology for installing complete heating circuits certified in accordance with IEC and EN 60079-30-1. Due to the variations and combinations available with this type tested and approved heating system, individual, on-site inspections are no longer necessary. ■
