Dedicated filtration solutions B

ekaert collaborates with licensing and contracting companies worldwide to design and manufacture dedicated

filtration solutions. Bekaert Advanced Filtration’s technology for gas applications resides in process conditions understanding and translation in the proper filter system design using elements made of sintered fibres metallic media.

Bekipor filtration media are characterised by

high porosity, thin and multilayer structure with very fine fibre top layer allowing state of the art surface filtration.

This implies low clean differential pressures,

ensuring longer cycle time during cake build-up on the fine flow-in layer, avoiding the particles penetration.

The welded metallic elements are welded operate from outside to inside.

When maximum pressure drop is reached,

the automated cleaning sequence is launched, sending the dry and clean gas accumulated in the tank thru blow pipes row per row, distributing to the nozzle positioned above each element hanging in the filter vessel. The sonic velocity reached at the orifice of the

nozzles results in a shockwave that the metallic filter element transmits to the cake, the medium being more rigid than a cloth and more flexible than a plate. The graded fibre layer composition enhances

a very efficient cleaning. The dust cake will break and fall down,

resulting in a recovery of a low residual pressure drop, consuming less energy than other filtration technologies.

Bekaert is a global technological and market

leader in advanced solutions based on metal transformation and coatings, and the world’s largest independent manufacturer of drawn steel wire products. ■
