What to expect on your

The Theory Test costs £31 and is split into two sections:

Theory Test

1. Multiple Choice Theory Test • You must answer 50 multiple choice questions in 57 minutes • Pass mark is 43 out of 50

2. Hazard Perception Test • Correctly identify 15 scoreable hazards across 14 video clips • Pass mark is 44 out of 75

You must pass BOTH parts to achieve your pass certificate.

Many people find this part of the test more difficult, as there are no right or wrong answers to learn from. It’s simply a case of having to identify a hazard as soon as you recognise it. But this can prove tricky for some people.

Watch the Driving Test Success Hazard Perception video to find out what you should be looking for, how to anticipate developing hazards and how the test is marked.
