COMMUNITY SERVICES

Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington For almost 90 years, Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington has been committed

to providing high quality health care in a patient-focused environment. Opened on June 24, 1924, as a 22-bed hospital staffed by 14 people, the hospital has a fully-accredited, general acute care hospital offering 24-hour care and extensive diagnostic and surgical services, staffed by over 500 employees and 100 physicians whose purpose remains constant: To provide Burlington and surrounding communities with the best health care possible. Aurora’s presence in Burlington also includes the Aurora Burlington Clinic, the

Aurora Wellness Center, the Western Racine County Health Department, Aurora Rehabilitation Services, and the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association. Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington also offers emergency services, cardiac

services, diagnostic imaging, including digital mammography, inpatient and outpa- tient surgery, intensive care unit, stereotactic breast biopsy, and women’s care center. In the summer of 2011, Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington received an

upgrade to it’s interventional radiology/cardiac cath lab, making it one of the most modern labs in the country. Our fine team of interventional radiologists and cardiolo- gists can now partner with out excellent general and vascular surgeons to perform more high end procedures right here in Burlington. In 2011, The Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration project sponsored by the CMS and Premier, a national health care alliance, recognized Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington for being a national leader in the quality initiative. The project measured clinical quality outcomes in six areas: congestive heart failure, heart at- tack, pneumonia, heart bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement and reduction of post-operative complications. Aurora Memorial Hospital was nationally recognized in 10 out of 10 possible cate-

gories! These incredible results helped the Aurora Health Care system to be ranked as the top performing health system in America. For the six year project, Aurora Health Care ranked as the number one health system in the nation in quality outcomes. To learn more, please log onto www.aurorahealthcare.org.
