Southern Lakes Blue Devils The Southern Lakes Blue Devils semi-professional football team is always ready to play some football. They bill themselves as the “working man’s NFL”. For years, many talented players graduated from high school and were forced to leave football behind. This venue offers non-college bound players a chance to continue to play. Co-owners and managers, Tom Hawkins and his wife Dorothy, are passionate about the game.
The league is composed of teams from southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois and all games are within a two hour drive from Burlington. Home games are played at Karcher Middle School. The Blue Devils are one of sixteen teams that are members of the Ironman Football League. Visit

Burlington’s Farmers Market
Located in Wehmhoff Square Park (behind the Library) in Historic Downtown Burlington is one of Burlington’s best undiscovered treasures! The Burlington farmers market was a new addition to Burlington during the summer and fall of 2008, but the market quickly grew with vendors and customers coming from miles around to sell and buy the freshest produce, meats and cheeses, and the most unique products.
The market occurs every Thursday evening from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. May - October. Those seeking fresh, locally grown produce and unique gifts will be sure to want to visit every week. And while in town, visitors are encouraged to visit one of Burlington’s quaint locally owned shops, or dine at one of the many downtown eating establishments.
With so many options, you will like what you find! Support Burlington by shopping the Farmers Market and our Historic Downtown Shops!
