landscape are dozens of parks – many along the banks of the White and Fox Rivers - that offer playground equipment, picnic areas, fishing and play host to a variety of city events and festivals. Our parks invite you to relax and play, host concerts on Friday evenings in the summer, are home to fairs, festivals and many, many other events.

Our rivers and lakes make Burlington a popular destination for boating, fishing and water sports enthusiasts alike. Area lakes include Bohner’s Lake, Brown’s Lake, Rockland Lake and Echo Lake – located in the heart of the city.
Spend an afternoon canoeing down the Fox River, a lazy day at the beach at Fischer County Park or fish on the banks of the White River. Remember, no visit to Burlington is complete without seeing the Aquaducks Water-Ski Club show which is free and held on Thursday evenings in the summer (Saturday’s on holiday weekends) at Fischer Park on Brown’s Lake.
Southeastern Wisconsin offers a great variety of trees that provide a wide palette of spectacular color in late September and early October. An excellent way to see our fabulous fall colors is to take a drive along one of our seventeen rustic roads (more than any other Wisconsin County). Each is marked and maps correspond to markers to aid you in navigation. Maps are available at the state of Wisconsin website,

The winter months hold much beauty and excitement on the many lakes and rivers surrounding Burlington. Whether you enjoy skating, hockey, fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing or making snow angels, one thing is for sure, when it comes to winter fun, Burlington has it all.
Bike Trails No matter if you like your two wheels on the blacktop, back country roads or scenic bike trails, miles of trails provide a great two-wheel time for every peddler. These routes offer an excellent way to see many of the natural wonders of our area – wild flowers and native birds, fresh air and fun add up to a healthy and leisurely way to enjoy family fun.
If road biking is what you prefer, there are many miles of lightly traveled country roads. Stop by the Chamber office for bike maps or try one of these.
