GUIDE TOTHE GAMES

The Highland Games –The BestWay to Prepare for Major Competitions

O

NCE more we

grateful for

the assistance of the Competing Pipers’ Association

in

publishing this year’s Guide to the Games, in particular their secretary Dr Peter McCalister. We would

encourage all pipers to support the games. There is no better way of preparing for the bigger competitions than by testing yourself round the smaller contests.More than that, those who didn’t get to play at Oban and Inverness can build up the track record that may gain them inclusion in 2013. Given the rising cost of petrol in the UK pipers may like to car share as they travel round the country. There is also good public transport to many parts of the Highlands and islands. We would urge promoters to try

to freshen up their benches if at all possible by referring to the list of judges printed in our news column this issue. We can supply phone numbers if necessary. Pipers wishing to join the CPA can do so here: www.competing pipers.com. April Sat 14 – SPA Professional Competi- tion at CoP: tanned54@ hotmail.com
