SKATING magazine editor Troy Schwindt presents Meryl Davis and Charlie White with SKATING magazine’s Readers’ Choice Award Michelle Kwan Trophy at the 2012 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose, Calif. Davis and White enjoyed a perfect 2010–11 campaign, which concluded in Moscow with the duo becoming the first U.S. ice dancing team to win a gold medal at the World Championships. Ice dancing became a discipline at the World Championships in 1952. Davis and White captured their fourth consecutive U.S. title in San Jose.

Nobuo Sato of Japan, a World Figure Skat-


ing Hall of Fame member, was honored during the 2012 ISU Four Continents Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. Sato, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in


2010, won 10 consecutive Japanese men’s titles from 1956–1966. He represented Japan at the 1960 and        fourth place at the World Championships, held in Colorado Springs. Sato is best known as a coach, having trained


- ter, 1994 World champion Yuka Sato. The World Figure Skating Hall of Fame, located


in Colorado Springs, was established in 1976 to hon- or distinguished athletes, coaches and contributors to 

U.S. pairs champions Caydee Denney and John Coughlin were featured on a huge video board along the busy I-25 corridor between Denver and Colorado Springs as part of a promotional campaign for the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Colorado Springs. Denney and Coughlin won the silver medal at the event.
