2012-13 Metalcaster ProsPectus

Carley Foundry, Inc Frank Carley’s hard work and desire to take

risks created the foundation for Carley Foundry today. In 1955, along with his wife and their three young children, Frank started Carley Foundry in the basement of their home. Over the years, through numerous expansions, Carley Foundry has grown to 177,000 square feet and upholds the customer commitment and work ethic es- tablished in that basement over 50 years ago. Carley’s motto, “casting is a way of life”,

permeates every aspect of the business. The foundry is able to offer multiple casting pro- cesses in aluminum and steel, providing great flexibility and a wide range of capabilities to its customers.

Mission Statement

It is Carley Foundry’s Quality Policy to achieve world class performance in Quality and Delivery on all products and services at an exceptional value. This will be achieved through mutual respect between all employees, continuous

improvement of our processes and by conducting all business using ethical practices.

Carley Foundry’s expertise was showcased in a Harley Davidson oil tank casting that won the AFS “Casting of the Year” award in 2008. The component, converted from plastic, featured cast-in oil circulation tubes that eliminated costly machining and design constraints to allow the tubes to span the length of the tank and circulate hot oil throughout. “A lot of what our engineers provide are castability sugges- tions or how to take some money out of the part,” says VP of Engineering Randy Oehrlein. “In some cases, we even give suggestions or support with alloy choice and heat treating cost.” Another unique Carley offering comes in

the form of three full-time “problem solvers”, in addition to the dedicated engineering staff. These engineers help out where needed, often

on particularly puzzling casting designs. This provides the facility with great flexibility to adapt to unique customer needs. If cast metal components are a part of your life, source where casting is a way of life – Carley Foundry.
