The festivities begin after your guided tour of the Sistine Chapel with canapés and cocktails in the Courtyard of the Pigna, just outside of St. Peter’s Basilica, so named for the giant bronze pinecone that graces the patio. Dinner will be served inside the neoclassical Braccio Nuovo, lined with priceless marble sculptures and busts of notable public figures of the ancient world on the walls and colorful mosaics on the floor, where you’ll dine to the accompaniment of Renaissance musicians.
