DJ MUGGS ‘SNAP YA NECK BACK’ ULTRA RECORDS

First it was Cypress Hill teaming up with Rusko for the subtle-as-a-sledgehammer ‘Roll it Light It’. Now DJ Muggs has signed to Ultra Records for a new, presumably mainly, dubstep album ‘Bass For Your Face’. Featuring grime’s biggest success story Dizzee Rascal alongside LA rapper Bambu, he’s certainly mastered the art of wobble, although we wouldn’t recommend his

hand carwash service as shown in the video. Fittingly, ‘Bass For Your Face’ also features Public Enemy legend Chuck D alongside another product of London’s grime scene P-Money and probably plenty more of Muggs’ industry buddies. Expect him to be hit with plenty of lawsuits when the track is accused of causing whiplash.

MK

WE’RE incredibly proud to have MK, aka Marc Kinchen, drop us this podcast which combines many of his classic ‘90s dubs and original productions with newer remixes and tracks from his contemporaries. Rough and raw, the Detroit-born producer, whose vocal cut-up style inspired the likes of Todd Edwards, packs 26 tracks into his hour-long mix, dropping Mosca next to Opus III

and mixing Maceo Plex into the Pet Shop Boys. It’s the perfect way to get up to speed on one of house music’s most infl uential cats, who is now working with Defected as well as alongside Hot Natured, and hopefully just the beginning of MK stepping out of the studio and hitting the road to play some more gigs again.
