stage with four live demonstrations every day. Also on show will be the new CF101LA Modular Point Source Array system, which offers installers a modular, scalable point source, providing flexible solutions where a single cabinet is not loud enough, yet the vertical space or budget are not available for a traditional line array. Under the Cardinal DVM

brand, Sommer Cable will show two new product series at Prolight + Sound. The DVM194 series contains four components for installation, live and studio applications. The 0.25-19in housing design allows the integration into Sommer Cable’s SYSBOXX housing system and into all common housing systems pursuant to DIN 41494, enabling a combination of connecting units and active electronics. A four-channel two-bus mixer, a 2 x 75W power amplifier, a two-way

headphone amp system with AUX input and a 3.5” display module are available in this series. According to Sommer, possible fields of use are installations in the conference and catering business.

Also new is the DVM120

series, which contains six different problem fixers and audio tools for professional live and studio applications. Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake

will again be exhibiting at Prolight + Sound. Highlights will include the Frankfurt debut of the latest evolution of Lake’s LM Series of digital audio system processors, LM 44, along with a sneak preview of the brand new developments with Lake Controller software. Version 6 will include support for the forthcoming Yamaha MY8- LAKE card as well as a host of improvements to performance and functionality including full integration with Smaart v7 and WaveCapture’s Live-Capture real-time spectrum analysis software systems. Also on show will be

Tannoy’s new VLS Series passive column array, following its international debut at ISE 2012.

manipulation features of Lake Processing. Telefunken Elektroakustik is

introducing its M81 universal dynamic cardioid microphone in Germany. The M81 has a more linear frequency response than the company’s M80, resulting in a microphone “with the distinct clarity Telefunken has become famous for”, it claims, but with a different depth and body to the tone, and less of the M80’s characteristic high-end response. And finally: Void Acoustics will launch a whole new sound system this year. Designed to be the ultimate dance club system, the

five-way Incubus Club System incorporates the Air Array, Hyperfold and

Incubus Subs. The Air array is the mid high element of the club system delivering the best high level, high-fidelity sound. The low mid section of the Air Array consists of two hyperbolic horns fed from a split manifold driven from four very high power 12” transducers. The devices use a newly developed 3” exit compression driver to handle the midrange frequencies. These devices make use of a massive 6” diaphragm to reproduce frequencies down to 500Hz with very low distortion levels. The high frequency section is derived

from six 35mm diaphragm, 1” compression drivers delivering frequencies above and beyond the normal scope of hearing. The Hyperfold 4 x 15” upper bass enclosure is derived from the Void pyramid horn system, originally incorporated for the Para flex 640 system, this new configuration radically increases the bass intensity to an unprecedented level. Incubus Subs sonically challenging design consists of three 21” transducers in a hybrid horn bandpass enclosure. A combined power handling of 6,000W RMS and a very high sensitivity result in foundation cracking sub down to 30Hz. www.pls.messefrankfurt.com
