systems into today’s modern entertainment venues. Using KV2 VHD technology, the SL412 loudspeaker utilises 4 x 12” low mid-range components and the horn assembly from the VHD1.0 with a single 8” mid-range and 3” large- format NPVD compression driver. The SL2.15 is a 2 x 15” unit designed to output maximum bass response from its shallow cabinet design. Final adjustments are being made to this product with full specifications available soon. Also new is the JK Series of
DI boxes and audio tools. The JK Series consists of the JK1 single channel DI, JK2 stereo DI, JKA single channel acoustic DI with resonance notch filter and the JKP single channel passive DI and mic splitter. Also included in the range is the JKT tone generator, an audio tool that will assist engineers in the tuning and checking of systems and components.

Horus, the new I/O system, will take centre-stage on Merging Technologies’ stand. Horus has been designed as a high-quality standalone converter; however in RAVENNA mode it becomes an IP ‘node’ fully configurable from one Ethernet cable. It allows routing on an eight-channel granularity level of up to 128 channels of MADI, 24 channels of AES/EBU and 24 channels of analogue to/from Ethernet. Merging will also show the
latest version of its Ovation Media Server and Sequencer – Ovation 3.0. Already proving popular for controlling audio in venues such as theme parks and theatres, Ovation3 is capable of huge multitrack audio playback (up to 384 tracks) of any file type or sample rate (real time SRC) combined with control protocol firing for interaction with any system configuration
The 1238CF DSP monitor will be on show from Genelec
(MIDI/RS-232/GPIO/RS- 422/LTC/Script. Link’s DGlink has appeared
at several PL+S shows, but not in this format: now it has MADI! The digital stagebox solution is modular and 100% compatible with existing analogue stagebox and splitter systems. DGlink allows a production company to run a single multi-pin cable between the stage and FOH that will carry all signals including digital audio, comms, analogue back- up and remote control. Martin Audio will present the MLA Compact system to the world stage. The ‘son-of-MLA’ technology was revealed in the UK last month (see story, p65). Mojave Audio will be featuring
the recently introduced MA- 301fet condenser microphone at the upcoming show. Based on the MA-201fet, this new mic offers three-position pickup pattern selector, a 15dB pad, and a switchable bass roll-off. It is said to be ideal for vocals, voice over and broadcast, electric guitar,
piano, acoustic instruments, drum overheads and room mics (drum ambience), and high SPL sources such as kick drums and bass guitar amps. As revealed in last month’s PSNEurope, Paris-based developerNexo is planning to reveal a “radical yet simple progression in large-format PA design” at PL+S. The STM Series steers away from the conventional line array arrangement and presents users with a modular, “Swiss army knife” approach, according to technical director François Deffarges. Renkus-Heinz will present
additions to the IC2 digital beam steering series; these offer digital beam steering for applications with higher output requirements. IC2 will also feature on the outdoor Concert Sound Arena
