ITFC SEASON TICKETS 2012/13
WELCOME FROM
Simon Clegg Chief Executive
Football isn’t immune to the economic climate that we are currently experiencing. The game is changing. It had to change and the introduction of Financial Fair Play in the Championship will have a profound bearing on the way football clubs are run in the future. Not before time I imagine many would say, with the recent examples of Portsmouth and perhaps more alarmingly, one of the giants of the game, Glasgow Rangers, going into administration.
At Ipswich Town we are fortunate to have an owner in Marcus Evans that has come in and invested heavily in the Club. It remains Marcus’ ambition to see the name of Ipswich Town in the Premier League. That was his goal when he became owner of this fantastic football club and that’s his goal now. While as I said, the Club enjoys Marcus’ financial backing, it’s important, towards us standing on our own two feet, that we optimise future opportunities and minimise risk. I also recognise that the purchase of
a season ticket is perhaps a bigger commitment now than ever before, given the testing financial situation we are in so we have decided not to increase prices for 2012/13, despite pressures to do so to meet our own rising costs, meaning a freeze on prices for the fifth time in six years. We have also extended our interest free payment scheme from eight months to 12 months and maintained the 50% Premiership Cashback offer.
“Season Ticket Holders provide the foundation for any football club.”
In addition we have listened to our fans who wanted to see an U20 price category introduced in Sir Bobby Robson Stand lower and acted on that and supporters can also now renew their season tickets online as well as by the traditional means.
Season Ticket Holders provide the foundation for any football club. Your support is greatly appreciated and never taken for granted. Together I hope we can achieve great things next season.
