It was at a conference in New York City last fall where I first heard a blunt, not-so- nice term used to describe our collective condition: WorldSuck. Coined to describe the bundle of problemsconfronting the human race, it refersto challengessuch asclimate change, hunger, lack of clean drinking water, illiteracy, war, poverty, economic instability, gender discrimina- tion, and HIV/AIDS.
