Cummins Allison turns to crime B

BC drama Inside Men is using note counting machines from Cummins Allison as props in the story of a robbery from a cash counting business.

The firm also provided training to the actors in correct use of the

equipment, and one of their service engineers was hired as an extra to operate the machines. Recalled managing director Andrew Crowson: “We had a great couple

of days on set helping to prepare for filming. Although the majority of the money used in the film was fake a small proportion of it had to be genuine for it to be counted through our machines, because of our equipment’s highly sophisticated counterfeit detection.” The BBC used two of Cummins Allison’s large MPS machines and 20

of the smaller JetScans, which can handle 1000 and 1200 notes per minute respectively.

unworld’s Touch Toy terminal for children can encourage creativity and take the pressure off parents in locations as diverse as shopping centres, hotels, doctors’ surgeries and banks, says the supplier.

Eight games – Counting,Words, Drawing, Puzzle, Painting, Duo, Melody and Detective – develop basic knowledge

and memory, covering numeracy and literacy skills as well as art and music. Said Funworld CEO Josef Öhlinger: “All the games were developed in collaboration with child psychologists and

educators and are suitable for children. They demonstrably support the child’s memory capacity and have a pronounced social aspect. They thus have an entertainment, communication and educational impact simultaneously, while offering children a unique game experience.” An encouraging voice guides children through the menu in a choice of ten languages including English, French and

German. The unit is available in red, yellow, green or blue, and can be customised to fit with a location’s branding. It’s even possible to build the terminal into your own fittings using the OEM kit.

As well as providing a service to parents and

children which improves the customer experience, the Touch Toy can be revenue- generative by displaying advertising or by coin- slot operation. “With Touch Toy, Funworld is forging a

completely new path, whereby we are successfully penetrating into promising business segments outside of the vending machine sector and opening up new market opportunities to locations. Around 1000 Touch Toys are already in use in the initial markets of Austria and Finland at locations including the fashion house C&A, the furniture chain Lutz and Raiffeisenbank, which are attracting significant attention due to their high entertainment value and the educational content,” said Öhlinger.
