Te Nominating Committee only recom- mends one person for each leadership position; however, additional candidates may be nomi- nated by duly qualified delegates. In order to nominate additional candidates, a delegate must submit a candidate’s resume and statement of purpose accompanied by the signatures of offi- cers of three U.S. Figure Skating member clubs. Such nominations must be submitted to the U.S. Figure Skating secretary in care of headquarters by April 15 and will be published on U.S. Figure Skating Online once received.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE In May 2012, delegates will be responsible

for electing Nominating Committee members from the New England, North Atlantic, South- west, Upper Great Lakes, Southwest Pacific and Northwest Pacific Regions.

Any member who is a home club member of a club in one of the six aforementioned regions,

or any individual member with a legal residence in one of those six regions, who is interested in serving on the Nominating Committee must submit a bio to the U.S. Figure Skating secretary in care of Michele Cameron (mcameron@usfig- ureskating.org) by April 15, 2012. Te bios must include a disclosure of residency and the club the candidate represents, if the candidate is a home club member. As soon after April 15 as possible, the bios will be posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website. If there is a region from which no candi- dates submit bios by April 15, the vice president from that region’s section will solicit and procure at least two candidates and have their bios pub- lished on the U.S. Figure Skating website no later than seven days before the start of Governing Council.

later in the same meeting. Te hope is that pro- viding the delegates with more time to review the candidates’ bios will allow the delegates to select the best candidates for the Nominating Commit- tee.

Te Nominating Committee is a great op-

portunity for members interested in the leader- ship of U.S. Figure Skating to get more involved. We encourage clubs and members to start think- ing now about whom they want to serve on this most important committee.
