Northeast Escondido was the scene of a stabbing during a carjacking.

The victim, his wife and child, were parked outside a restaurant near Grand and Rose, awaiting a pizza, when a white van drove up. One of the occupants demanded the car and when the driver got out, he was stabbed in the chest.

One of the suspects then jumped in the car and started to take off before noticing the wife and child in the car. He ordered them out of the car and took off.

The victim laid on the ground with a life-threatening wound in his chest. Police arrived within one minute of the 911
