This month Channel 4 has contacted ToolBUSINESS+HIRE Magazine, in their quest for independent shops to target for a new series. I am sure you are all familiar with Mary Portas and her

television series Mary Queen of Shops? Launched in 2007 the show took Mary behind the scenes of the fashion retail world, challenging her to help turn around the fortunes of some independent boutiques. Following its success a further series ran in 2008 and in

2009, Mary responded to two key problems facing our world, the financial and the environmental, with the series Mary Queen of Charity Shops. In this series she helped to change a Save the Children charity shop from its worst performing store to its best. In June 2010 Mary took on the supermarkets rescuing

six British shopkeepers and showcasing their struggle to stay in business. Exciting news for 2012 is that your business may have

the opportunity to take advantage of Mary’s expertise by taking part in a brand new series for Channel 4. If you run an independent shop that is struggling to

survive or expand and would like to take part, now is your chance! Channel 4 is keen to hear from all types of retailers

including DIY, hardware stores and electrical/tool outlets. Whatever your product, if you are struggling to make your business a success they would like to hear from you. As part of this programme the successful applicant will

receive advice and guidance from the UK’s Leading Industry Expert. If you own the business and would like to find out

more and want to apply to be involved please e-mail: - maryp@optomen.comor call 0203 227 5896 At ToolBUSINESS+HIRE Magazine we would like to
