Helly Hansen strengthens training initiatives for 2012


T


echnical sportswear brand, Helly Hansen, has announced its staff training and sales associates programme for 2012. For 2012, the brand has announced a number of training initiatives to be rolled out to its retail partners and sales associates. The schemes will include the launch of 3point5 online training - classroom training sessions with Helly Hansen ambassador Inge Solheim, and outdoor activity days enabling staff to test Helly Hansen clothing.


3point5 training is a brand initiative available to all Helly Hansen retailers and sales associates. The online tool is a training resource used by many brands, with over 90% of users reporting positive results in increased brand knowledge and productivity.


The programme enables users to sharpen their skills whilst gaining confidence about the Helly Hansen brand and its products. All users will be given the opportunity to earn significant discounts on Helly Hansen products through the completion of easy ‘Edu-Games’, designed to test their new-found knowledge via a series of fun multiple choice quizzes.

Gresham takes on Petzl technical training for Lyon Equipment

utdoor distributor Lyon Equipment has announced the appointment of top UK climber and performance coach Neil Gresham as Technical Training Rep for La Sportiva, Beal and Petzl.


Gresham has worked with Lyon Equipment for a number of years on the La Sportiva and Beal brands, but the addition of Petzl marks a significant change.


“It’s great news that Neil is now working with Petzl”, says Paul Cornthwaite from Lyon Equipment. “Neil is one of the most knowledgeable and hardest-working people in the business. Throughout 2012, Inge Solheim, will be visiting a number of Helly Hansen’s retail partners to run hands-on workshops with retail staff. Inge, will share his passion and knowledge of living and working in extreme conditions, whilst providing training on Helly Hansen’s products, and how to prepare for extreme outdoors adventures. In addition, a number of outdoor activity days will be organised. The experience days will enable retail staff to familiarise themselves first- hand with the benefits of Helly Hansen kit when worn in its natural environment– how it feels and performs.

appoints Marketing Manager


owe Alpine has announced the appointment of Rinaldo Colombi as Marketing Manager. Colombi moves to Lowe Alpine from Lyon Equipment where he spent five years building Petzl’s UK lighting business. In his new role Colombi will assume responsibility for Lowe Alpine’s international marketing programme across all disciplines and media, and will be based at its Kendal headquarters. A dedicated outdoor enthusiast, Colombi is an active climber, biker and fell runner. “Rin’s appointment is an excellent one for the team”, says Lowe Alpine UK managing director David Udberg. “This is a key role as we build momentum; his background and experience means he will be fully effective from day one, and his passion for outdoor activities fits perfectly with the new spirit of Lowe Alpine.”
