Lifeventure – Travel Luggage Scales
They say: Lifeventure Luggage Scales are perfect for both business and adventure travellers alike. Featuring a sleek, ergonomic design, the luggage scales have a tactile rubberised finish
and a clear, easy-to-read display that changes colour when the scale has registered the weight. Practical as well as stylish, the scales measure in both kilograms and pounds and have a safe fabric loop for simple handling. GWA highlight: Very similar to the Go Travel luggage scales that we reviewed in December, the Lifeventure scales have a simple fabric tail that loops around things and attaches to itself, meaning that you can negotiate handles, straps and uneven objects easily. However, significantly better than the Go Travel scales, is the shape of the Lifeventure version, which is much more rounded and conducive to picking up easily. GWA summary: Fool-proof and simple scales with a really easy to see display and very comfortable handle-like design. If you need a device to weigh things with, this is the one to get.

Trek Trousers They say:: The Trek Trousers are suitable for walking, hiking and trekking; making them a great piece of outdoor clothing. Made from a combination of cotton and polyester; the Trek Trousers are lightweight and fast drying. In addition, the trousers are also shrink and fade resistant for longer lasting quality. GWA highlight: Wearing the Trek Trousers is a pleasure. They’re comfortable and lightweight, so great for long walks on warm days. There are normal hand- warmer pockets as well as velcro-closure cargo and bum pockets and a couple of secure zippered pockets for valuables. GWA summary: Really comfortable, flattering and lightweight walking trousers, which at £15 are a justifiable purchase, but the build quality is too shoddy to warrant any higher price.

They say: Silva Expedition features easy- handling Dryflex housing, silicon rubber feet for precision map work,
detachable safety-release lanyards, night- enabling luminous markings,
magnifying lens, map-measuring scales in mm or
inches, 1:25,000, 1:50,000 and GPS scales, plus built-in adjusters for magnetic declination (including permanent local adjustment). GWA highlight: The Expedition 4/54 is a precision piece of equipment, and could be perfect for anyone training in the Scouts, Military or other Navigation course (NNAS Bronze, Silver or Gold). GWA summary: At £30 this is towards the top end of baseplate compasses, but is pretty much all you will ever need. It is feature packed and easy to use in day or night. The lanyard is a little chafing, and the compass scratches easily, but otherwise it’s a top piece of gear.

Price: £28-£30.00 Price: £14.99 Go Travel – Wash It All
They say: Lacking space whilst travelling, this travel wash is perfect for you. The versatile wash can be used for hair, body, clothes and your dishes and it comes in an airline approved 95ml bottle. GWA highlight: Packaged in a little bottle of 95ml, which is small enough to go on a plane as hand-luggage and save you the gut-wrenching ‘delight’ of having to send your checked-bags on a week-long trip to Lisbon as you lounge, spare-pant less next to a pool in Florida. GWA summary: Wash It All is a little bottle of detergent which cleans all manner of things, and yet doesn’t leave your skin and scalp feeling dry or itchy. It’s a little too runny for my liking, but other than that it works well. Plus, when it’s finished, you get a handy carry-on sized bottle. Better than multiple bottles of potions for ultra-light travellers. Otherwise, puzzling.
