Thoroughbred World “Oaks Day”:

The 138th Kentucky Oaks Exclusively for guests on the equestrian-focused Thoroughbred World, Friday, May 4 is “Oaks Day” – the day you’ll attend the 138th Running of the Kentucky Oaks, a 1-1/8 mile race for 3-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs in Louisville, traditionally run on the day before the Derby and affectionately known as the “Run for the Lilies.” More than just a sister race to the Kentucky Derby, the Kentucky Oaks – like the Derby itself – dates back to 1875, and has been won by some of the greatest fillies in thoroughbred racing history. Popular with racing fans and celebrities alike, the Oaks has a prestige and a character all its own... and you’ll feel the excitement build as you enjoy “Oaks Day” and watch the race from the comfort of Tauck’s private Trackside Village unit with an open bar, dining throughout the day, and – of course – great views! And after the race, you’ll cap an extraordinary day by returning to Lexington for dinner and more equestrian-themed fun at the Kentucky Horse Park.
