A Look at R1Soft’s CDP 3.0 Data Center Console
Properly maintaining servers in a data center is essential to guaranteeing the uptime web hosting clients rely on. Having the servers backed up plays a critical role.
Recently, cloud backup software company R1Soft unveiled the latest release of its CDP Server protection platform, Continuous Data Protection Data Center Console, version 3.0.
With the console, operators using the product can manage up to 100 CDP Servers in their data centers, all while ensuring that they continue to be backed up properly.
What It Checks For Specifically, the platform allows the operator to check server disk usage, policy health, and the stability of volumes.
How It Works To allow for such, CDP 3.0 Data Center Console relies on what R1Soft describes on their website as a “single use sign-on authentication across all of your CDP Servers,” thus allowing the administrator to access the vital information.
Other Features In addition to checking for general stability of CDP servers, version 3.0 of R1Soft’s Data Center Console allows for a variety of functions and capabilities. Servers can be managed through both LANs and WANs, both network domains.
One of the cool features about the console is the ability to work through multiple data centers.
For whatever reason, upon the occurrence of the console’s unavailability, R1Soft maintains that the administrator still has the ability to manage each CDP server independently.
Compatibility For the console to work, the servers can either be operating on CDP 3.0 Enterprise or CDP 3.0 Advanced edition, both installable on either Windows or Linux operating systems. Databases used include version 5.0 of MySQL or higher.
For installation, minimum physical memory required on the system is set a 4 GB. However, R1Soft recommends that amount doubled, at 8 gigabytes plus. While free disk space required is set at 10 GB, the company also recommends more for that as well (100 GB+).
Availability
R1Soft is providing Continuous Data Protection at a price of $6,000. However, the company is offering a free 30 day trial upon registration through
R1Soft.com.
Overall, R1Soft’s CDP 3.0 Data Center Console gives its users a way to easily maintain server stability by providing them with a centralized management platform. P!
