Luxury hotel barge operator EUROPEAN WATERWAYS has announced a smart new addition to their fleet for 2012, the 12-passenger Panache, bringing the portfolio of deluxe barges on offer to 21. The 128ft barge will embark in April and May on round-trip ‘Tulip Cruises,’ starting and finishing in Haarlem, visiting the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens in full bloom, the world-famous Delft pottery and the cheese centre of Gouda.


Costa’s New Voyager


COSTA CRUISES has added a unique small ship to its mix of modern, large vessels by acquiring the former Olympia Voyager of now defunct Royal Olympic Cruises and


renaming the 25,000-ton vessel Costa Voyager.


She will then reposition via Paris to cruise the beautiful Canal de la Marne au Rhin in Alsace Lorraine. Other 2012 highlights include: A dedicated programme in


Burgundy for Savoir Faire, as she will spend most of the summer there following her Spring ‘Tulip’ cruises in Holland; ‘Barging and Biking’ options now extended to Tandem Biking along the towpaths; Biking Charters for more committed cyclists; or Biking Plus, when maps will be provided so guests can explore the surrounding countryside along the canal route.

Royal Caribbean has announced seven new dining packages for guests to enjoy the variety of speciality restaurants


Most recently with Spanish operator Iberocruceros, this chic and ultra-fast (capable of 27 knots) adventurer boasts 416 cabins, including 16 panoramic suites and 12 with balconies, three restaurants, four bars, a theatre, wellness centre and gym, treatment rooms, sauna and Turkish bath, swimming pool, disco, shopping centre and children’s club. The new arrival enhances the Italian


company’s versatile fleet, with a range of dimensions and differing characteristics, plus new itineraries, most notably the Red Sea. Throughout 2012, Voyager will offer


week-long cruises from Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt calling at Eilat (Israel), Aqaba (Jordan), Safaga (Egypt) and Sokhna (Egypt). From Eilat, excursions organised will take guests to a natural oasis in the Negev desert, the fortress of Masada and the wonderful landscapes of the Dead Sea; from Aqaba, there will be visits the pink city of Petra, carved into the mountain; and from Safaga, there are excursions to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings.
