IT’S been a thrilling year for Visionquest, both the label and the Detroit DJ and production foursome of Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. With a jam-packed showcase party in Miami introducing the world to acts such as Footprintz, hits aplenty have rolled forth from their coffers, from Benoit & Sergio’s (anti) K sing-a-long anthem ‘Walk & Talk’ to Maceo Plex’s blast of summer dancefl oor fun, ‘Falling’. But it’s their taste for a poppy vocal that always serves to contrast any darkness, from My Favorite Robot’s ‘Forest Fires’ (another Visionquest release) to DC10 regular, Franco Cinelli’s remix of Cassius’ ‘The Sound of Violence’, with the ironically perfect Wildcookie’s ‘Song With No Ending’ fi nishing the mix off.
