METALLURIGIST—needed for permanent posi- tion. Perform professional work in the study of extracting, refining, alloying, or processing met- als, and in the characterization of properties and performance of metals under conditions of use. Position requires full professional education and training in the field of metallurgy, including abil- ity to apply the relevant principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and engineering to the study of metals. Responsibilities include R&D of metallurgical testing procedures in gray and duc- tile cast iron, alloy design, and failure analysis. Implement product quality control and statistical process control. Initialize corrective action of customer or in-house metallurgical problems; set metallurgical parameters throughout the process including make-up, base chemistry targets, percent Mg treatment, and hardness test. Position requires a Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering plus one-year experi- ence working in ferrous foundry.
