High performance push-pull connectors
Responding to customers asking for a heavy duty electrical connector with continuous EMC shielding,Multi-Contact developed the 16BV- GS which suits power systemapplications. The round, single-pole connector provides touch protection when unmated while bayonet fixing ensures a secure connection. Shielding provides electromagnetic attenuation of 65 dB up to 100MHz.
Protection rating is IP65 and IP67 whenmated and with its
captive sealing cap. Remotemating indication is provided via an optionalmicroswitch.
The connector is rated to 1,000V and 530A. Plug and socket are colour coded and accept cablewith cross-sections of 120 to 240mm2

Polymer connectors take the heat
Deutsch’s new 369 series of aerospace and harsh environment connectors is claimed to be reliable, lightweight, compact and cost-effective. The 369 series was developed for civil aerospace cabin systemapplications including: cabin and seat lighting; panel- break interconnection; oxygen and emergency systems; passenger power and seat actuation.
The connectors offer three, six and nine-way and are designed
so each half can be configured withmale or female contacts, thus doubling the keying configurations and ensuring powered contacts are electrically protected. Aerospace/military standard AS39029 gold-plated contacts can be extracted/reinserted from the rear with standard tooling.
The company states 369 connectors suit blind-mating or low
visibility conditions with the scoop-proof interface preventing contact damage. A button latchmechanismensures an audible feedback of positive locking.
The connectors are sealed at the cable andmating interface.
Rated at IP67 the connectors offer a -55 to 175°C operating temperature range. They aremanufactured froma composite thermoplastic which conforms to the low smoke, toxicity and flammability requirements of the aerospace industry.
