GET READY (ORIGINAL MIX) DAVID PENN, JABATO, DJ ROLAND CLARK STRICTLY RHYTHM

WHEN much feted Belgium duo Aeroplane split, Stephen Fasano vanished into thin air while Vito De Luca fl ew on solo, releasing an album and continuing to DJ extensively. Conjuring up his new alias as The Magician however, Stephen proves he still has the sleight of hand in the studio with ‘I Don’t Know What to Do’ (out now on Kitsune), an unashamedly ‘80s slice of pop disco which could be a classic from the Spandau Ballet vaults. Included on the equally emotionally ebullient ‘Kitsune

Maison Compilation 12’ (out 14th November), the French label’s best Maison compilation for quite some time, The Magician’s taste in other’s output shows a similarly up- beat eye. From disco house favourites Mercury to Benoit and Sergio’s darkly sexy remix of Friendly Fire’s ‘Hurting’, it’s feel-good music that work both on and off the dancefl oor and shows that Aeroplane took off with two equally gifted pilots.
