Watts Radiant achieves SHARP recognition from OSHA


NOrthANdOver, MAss.— the Watts radiant facility in springfield, Missouri, has become one of fewer


than 50 manufacturing plants to receive certification as part of the Missouri safety and health Achievement recognition Program (shArP). the prestigious shArP distinction, issued by OshA, recog- nizes an “elite group of small busi- nesses that maintain exemplary safety and health management systems.” In order to qualify for the shArP program, the 130-employee Watts radiant facility was able to lower its elevated days Away, restricted and/or transfer (dArt) rate from almost seven to zero. the entire process of consultation, inspection, modification, training and re-inspec- tion took about 15 months, with Watts radiant earning top marks from OshA on its final inspection.


ASPE, ARCSA sign agreement ChICAgO— the American society of


Plumbing engineers (AsPe) and the American rainwater Catchment systems Association have signed an agreement to jointly develop and pub- lish an ArCsA/AsPe consensus standard for rainwater catchment sys- tems. this agreement brings together the premier association representing plumbing engineering and design with the leading organization in the United states promoting rainwater catchment systems. Both organiza- tions have informally worked togeth- er in the past to publish standards, and the signing of this agreement at the recent AsPe Central Indiana Chapter meeting formalizes a relationship that will continue to grow and provide sig- nificant benefits to other organiza- tions, the plumbing community, and ultimately the consumer.
