TRISTAND®

Not only has RIDGID® improved its line of portable TRISTAND® chain vises with upgrades to the Model 460-6, but the company has also expanded the line with the introduction of the Model 460-12, a chain vise capable of gripping up to 12-inch diameter pipe. The TRISTAND chain vises are intended to hold PVC, steel and copper pipes. The Model 460-6 can hold pipe between ⅛ and 6 inches in diameter, while the new Model 460-12 has a 12-inch jaw and an extended chain to grip pipe diameters ranging from ⅛ to 12 inches. The chain vises are versatile and durable, and are designed to meet rugged jobsite needs year after year. The base is optimized to provide more working area – with the pipe benders located at the rear of the base for bending or adjusting pipe, and tool hangers for equipment storage during use. The large vise base also overhangs the front legs to allow for clear tool swing.

44 The PUNCTURE Solution

Prevent costly punctures in water pipes and electrical wires/conduit with THE PUNCTURE SOLUTION. Screws can’t penetrate the metal collar and are instantly deflected around the pipe, preventing damage. A better alternative to striker plates because it covers both sides of the pipe and leaves no bumps in finished sheetrock. Quick, one-handed snap-on installation saves time and money and provides a secure, tight fit between the stud and the pipe. One size fits up to 1" pipe/conduit. UL Listed and IAPMO Certified. Can also be used for electrical wiring and conduit. BUILDINGS AND MATTERS, LLC. e Circle 106 on reader reply

The 1/2" through 2" jaws used on its new line of ROPRESS tools, including the new ROMAX 3000, have received IAPMO PS117 approval, meeting the Elkhart Products Corporation current Press-Connect fitting performance standard. All tests were conducted using the ROMAX 3000 battery-powered press tool. The ROMAX 3000 weights only 8-pounds. The tool’s head rotates 270° making access to hard-to- reach places easier, and the twist ‘n release locking pin allows for quick exchange of crimping jaws. Its bar-shaped design allows for balance weight distribution to reduce installers stress and fatigue. It also comes with a single trigger that controls all tool functions. The over-molded tacky grip areas make gripping the tool easier and more comfortable. Powered with an 18-volt Li-Ion lithium battery, plumbing installers can get approximately 160 cycles on a single battery charge with the ROMAX 3000 and a guaranteed 20,000 cycles with constant force. The tool’s cycle time is just 5 seconds and offers an estimated 160 cycles per charge with a 3-amp battery. The ROMAX 3000 has enough charge to run all day and has a charging rate of 85 minutes for a 90-percent charge and is fully charged in 2.5 hours.
