Buying: Launch Pad In Total control
Total Gym has introduced three updated pieces of functional bodyweight training equipment.
W
ith over 35 years history and over four million units sold, Total Gym says it continues to lead the way in
functional bodyweight training. It has released three updated machines given a new contemporary look and manufactured in improved materials with overhauled designs to build on the success of the existing Total Gym range.
Total Gym equipment uses bodyweight to engage every muscle in the body with over 200 different exercises. The increased number of incremental inclines and greater range of potential resistances on the new range makes each exercise even more flexible, meeting the needs of any exerciser.
The Total Gym GTS now features 22 incline levels, harnessing between 1-62 per cent bodyweight with a new release lever so the user can easily vary resistance.
The Total Gym PowerTower retains the motorised incline tower of older models, and adjusts to any height to harness between 3-72 per cent bodyweight at the touch of a button.
Total Gym Sport is a new addition to the product line, replacing the Total Gym 14000 incline trainer, and is recommended for use both in the home and in commercial facilities.
Rails on all three machines are now made from aluminium for longevity, lightness and quieter gliding, Total Gym says. For additional grip and comfort, the handles have been made sleeker and the lateral bars have been rubberised. In addition, the glideboard has been enlarged, with enhanced cushioning, and can now be adjusted to allow the user to sit parallel to the floor at any incline, ensuring all movements are biomechanically optimised and ideal for training special populations.

The glideboard can also be set horizontally to be used as a bench, giving the option to add free weight exercises to a workout. The squat stand is also larger and has additional height settings. Folding, unfolding and storing the new Total Gym range is said to have been made easier too with simplified mechanisms and lighter weight frames.
