S130 and larger skid-steer loaders
T180 and larger compact track loaders

attachment control kit, which was introduced in 1999 with the G-Series loaders. The main purpose of the attachment control kit is to provide communication between the attachment and the loader.
The attachment control device (ACD) is a small computer that facilitates communication between the tool carrier and attachment and provides the mechanism to control electrical/ hydraulic attachments. The ACD sends multiple signals to each wire to accomplish a different function. It uses proven CAN bus electronics for control of many attachments. There are more than 15 unique Bobcat attachments and multiple models that utilize the advanced 7-pin attachment control kit for enhanced operation and functionality. Ultimately it provides multifunction capability to hydraulic attachments, such as tree spades, stump grinders, planers, and the laser-guided box blade and grader attachments.
How ACD works There are four simple steps in the ACD function. First, when the tool carrier — such as a loader — handle switches are activated, power is sent to the controller. Next, the controller sends information to the ACD. Then the ACD sends information to the controls and power to the desired solenoids on the attachment valve. Lastly, the controller sends power to the desired loader auxiliary solenoid.

Beyond the basic hydraulic functions, the exclusive 7-pin attachment control kit can turn on high-fl ow auxiliary hydraulics automatically or lock out the operator from using it. The kit provides the

operator with error codes, which can be communicated to the service department at the local Bobcat dealer. Additionally, the control kit sends information to the optional Bobcat deluxe instrument panel.

Select Bobcat attachments communicate key messages via the 7-pin attachment control kit. These attachments include laser-guided box blades and graders, tree spades, planers and wheel saws. In the case of the laser-guided attachments, reporting includes real-time cutting edge distance from grade, lost laser indication, the ability to make increments or decrements and automatic mode indication. For Bobcat tree spade attachments, the operator can see the active blade indication, active gate indication, tree counter and timing adjustments for easy dig mode. On other attachments, the ACD allows the loader to “talk back” to the attachment — to adjust the moldboard angle on the grader, for example.
An hour meter provides cumulative hours for planers, wheel saws and laser-guided attachments. Two user-resettable job clocks are available to track time applied to attachment use and help with routine maintenance or component replacement (e.g., planer bits).
After signifi cant investment in attachment communication, Bobcat has set the industry standard with the best technology available today. In the end, more communication between the attachment and tool carrier means better productivity and less downtime.
