LIKE Marmite (you might have to look this up if you’re not from the UK as the simple explanation – a yeast based spread – doesn’t really do it justice ), David Guetta seems to divide people into those who love him and those who hate him. Just check our Top 100 DJs Facebook page to sample the vitriol and praise he inspires. Either way, there’s no doubt that Fuck Me I’m Famous, the club he runs with wife Cathy, has helped change the profi le of dance music, converting America’s biggest pop stars and making house – albeit in the most pumped-up, poppy

form imaginable – something everybody wants to be a part of.

On his ‘Nothing But The Beat’ album (out now) the polarity continues. Split over two CDs, the ‘Vocal Album’ sees him collaborating with a who’s who of US stars, from Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj to Usher and Snoop Dogg, with typically overblown, chart friendly results. Check the ‘Electronic Album’ though and you get Discovery-era Daft Punk mixed with Dirty Dutch’s energy and a sprinkling of trance melody – something that might convert even the fi ercest haters.
