And Finally THE XXXXT
NOW is the time, now is the hour for the world of bass music. As dubstep continues to win over US kids previously stuck in the cul-de-sac of guitar music, our own charts, normally dominated by personality-void pop puppets created by reality TV, are feeling the force of the likes of DJ Fresh and Nero who are taking the sound that started on the streets of Croydon to the number one spot. Like Fresh, Sub Focus (aka Nick Douwma) was once a true drum and bass player but 2009’s eponymous album on Ram showed his expanded horizons, taking in
the varying tempos and bass tones of a wide-range of electronic dance sounds. Since headlining Glastonbury last year and achieving a top three hit with his production of Example’s ‘Kickstarts’, he’s honed his live show touring with Pendulum and will be rolling it out at SW4 on Sunday 28th August.
On the same day you can catch
Pendulum, playing a London exclusive, and Magnetic Man, with a London festival exclusive, as well as Richie Hawtin, Annie Mac, Modeselektor and many more.
