As ever tapping into the dominant dancefloor sounds of the moment, Loopmasters’ ‘Dirty Dutch House’ aims to give the modern producer the sounds they need to be the next Sidney Samson or Afrojack – but does it succeed? 124 drum loops kick things off, ranging from straight up electro house to the more urban/dancehall influenced vibe that’s so hot right now. The standard is high, both in terms of programming and sonically, and the loops are backed up by a healthy selection of one shot samples. Next up, a decent range of fairly aggressive bass loops move your production forward, as well as some very


interesting FX and chopped vocal loops that would happily suit other ‘deeper’ dancefloor genres. However, Dutch House is all about those distinctive, squealing synths and speaker-busting leads. Included are well over a hundred inspirational loops ranging from those suitable for more traditional electro house, to extreme fidget-y pitch bends, heavily distorted dancehall-tinged stabs and epic sidechained pads drenched in reverb. The verdict? Unlike some other sample packs dedicated to a particular sound or scene, Loopmasters definitely gets it right.
