SEATTLE-BORN Camea might be a trained pianist schooled in classical and jazz theory, but it was the sound of minimal techno which inspired her to become a DJ, moving fi rst to Brooklyn to be around fellow dance artists, then Berlin. Having released on Bpitch Control, Minus, Soma, and Get Physical, she now runs her own Clink label which recently released ‘Clinkology’, a compilation on which she disassembled then re-pieced


tracks from the back catalogue, all of which are now available digitally alongside the tool edits she created. Check her chart and you get some idea of what to expect, from her own synth monster ‘We Not In’, which was recently featured on Heidi’s ‘Jackathon’ mix, to Cheek’s ‘Venus (Sunshine People Remix)’, a tasty piece of French disco house that keeps bouncing back, even 15 years after it’s release.
