THE SMITHS HEAVEN KNOWS I’M MISERABLE NOW Because I will be if I’m stuck on the island on my own. Oh, how the Smiths were able to express my emotions.

THE STROKES IS THIS IT? Rousing. Guaranteed to get me up and moving around the island trying to be constructive.

THE BEATLES FOR YOU BLUE There has to be a sentimental tear-jerker. This is mine.

PAVAROTI AND VARADY MASCAGNI’S CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA (BEATO VOI, COMPARE ALFIO…REGINA COELI) My nomination for the most powerful piece of opera ever written. If you know the opera, you know why I’ll be trying to rush home!

TREORCHY MALE VOICE CHOIR GWAHODDIAD Evocative of my childhood. It may lift my spirits or depress me completely!

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS PAN DDAW’S WAWR Taken from the only contemporary Welsh language album to enter the mainstream album charts. At the break of dawn is about loneliness. I’ll re-write the ending.

THE CRIBS IGNORE THE IGNORANT I’ve spent a lifetime encouraging people to do this. To use up some time, I may reflect on successes and failures.

STANLEY MYERS CAVATINA This will inspire me to keep practising my guitar.

10CC FROM ROCHDALE TO OCHA RIOS Guaranteed to put a spring in my step as it reminds me of how fantastic it is to live in Yorkshire (Rochdale is close enough) and the fun I have working with people in travel.

AN ELECTRIC GUITAR I’ll spend a lot of time trying to compose a catalogue of masterpieces.

GUITAR PLAYING MADE SIMPLE I’ll need this just to get me started!
