Academic Dean – Maritime Engineering
The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) is a system of 16 Colleges in 7 centers in the United Arab Emirates, one of the most progressive and modern countries in the Middle East.

The Dean of Maritime Engineering will be based in Abu Dhabi and will develop programs that provide the necessary skills and attributes for students of the HCT to pursue careers in the various disciplines relating to the maritime industry including engineering, logistics, communications and navigation. The position will provide leadership in the development of courses and programs related to maritime studies in consultation with relevant industry and government stakeholders. The incumbent will develop curriculum, identify and acquire resources which support students in the attainment of skills that exceed the expectations of employers. The Dean will promote best practices, monitor academic standards, evaluate student performance, facilitate faculty development and develop relationships throughout the system and the community with the aim of continuous improvement of the outcomes of maritime program delivery.
Requirements:
• Relevant post-graduate degree in Maritime Engineering, Maritime Safety and Environmental Management, International Transport and Logistics, Shipping Management or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. Qualification.
• Relevant professional certifications.
• Minimum 5 years of experience of working in shipping, ports administration, maritime transport and logistics or related specializations.
• At least 3 years of managerial experience in a related specialization.
• Experience in developing and/or leading projects related to maritime education and training.
• Preferred experience includes academic leadership at a tertiary institution and relevant teaching/training.
• Familiarity with the principles of curriculum development, delivery and assessment and the relationships of these processes to program quality assurance.
• Demonstrated experience with industry-education partnerships or linkages
