THOMAS KOCH, aka DJ T, started off DJing in the mid-80s in various Frankfurt clubs before setting up Groove magazine – Germany’s answer to DJmag at the time. He was editor and publisher for the best part of 15 years before leaving to devote himself to full-time music – including becoming the co-founder of a new Berlin label in 2002, Get Physical.

With releases from Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y and DJ T himself, Get Physical quickly became one of the coolest imprints in Europe. In 2005 it

scooped DJmag’s label of the year award. T’s fi rst album, ‘Boogie Playground’ paid homage to his electro-funk past before his second album ‘The Inner Jukebox’ — in collaboration with Thomas Schumacher — came out in 2009. A veteran of Get Physical CD comps and over 20 twelve- inches, T left Get Physical recently to concentrate on being an artist full-time. He’s just released his third album, ‘Pleasure Principle’, and is still DJing all over the place. Here (left) are his favourite tracks of the moment…
