The German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) will present products, systems
technology and services for the electrification of remote areas in the Rural
Electrification special exhibition.
T
he special exhibition serves as an initial starting point for finding out about the range of services within the German solar industry in the field of off-grid technology, particularly for international guests from developing and newly industrialized countries. Twelve member companies from the German Solar Industry Association will present a variety of applications for the electrification of public institutions, such as schools or hospitals, at the booth. In addition, they will present innovative technological solutions for rural energy provision and mini-grids.
The spectrum of features being presented ranges from solar modules, charge controllers, inverters and batteries to small-scale complete solutions. The systems are mounted in one central installation. Visitors will also be given outlines of projects that the exhibiting companies have already realized in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Expert booth personnel will advise visitors on technical issues and give advice regarding
suppliers of the systems being exhibited. Visitors will be passed on to the appropriate specialist companies as required.
Photovoltaic installations can contribute to establishing local infrastructure in remote regions. Solar Home Systems ensure the basic provision of light and communications worldwide. Moreover, larger photovoltaic systems can contribute to healthcare provision, for example with solar- powered water processing plants or solar-operated cooling and refrigerating devices for medicines.
Even skilled trades companies, community centres or shops and businesses can be electrified with high-output decentralized photovoltaic systems. Through the construction of so-called mini-grids, communities can cease their dependency on diesel generators.
