SPECIAL SECTION
Boise Cascade is committed to sustainability, as evidenced by its participation in the ICC-ES SAVE program, as well as the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

“I don’t think you can get a greener product than a wood product, period,” said Dunn. “The success of our company depends on responsible environmental stewardship, and Boise Cascade adheres to environmental, wood procurement and sustainable forestry policies.”

“We produce a report that allows companies like Boise Cascade to show its customers how its products may meet specific sustainability targets defined by today’s codes, standards and green rating systems,” said Steve Thorsell, ICC-ES Director of Special Projects.

“Green building is getting a lot more attention, especially with government projects, and I see that trend growing,” explained Dunn. “Boise Cascade is being proactive and anticipating that when the IGCC is adopted we will be able to validate our claims and address questions by showing a VAR from ICC-ES.”

Boise Cascade products also have been evaluated for compliance with the International Codes by ICC-ES. More information can be found in the following ICC Evaluation Service Reports: ESR-1336, ESR-1144 and ESR-1040.

A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States’ leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems.
