She acknowledges that she didn’t know what she wanted to do when she enrolled in graduate school at the University of Indianapolis. “You just go for it, and God tells you


where to go,” Bratina said — without a hint of regret. Getting respect from other medical


professionals is a challenge most nurse practitioners face. “There’s competition between all levels of health care,” she noted. “But the harsh reality is, we need all the help we can get to provide healthy, safe care for patients.” ●
