Ideally, you will have a degree in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering with a good grasp of train maintenance and reliability management. Familiarity with train maintenance systems and on-board management systems would be an advantage. We are looking for at least one new member to join our small but growing team of modellers and analysts. An interest in learning to use sophisticated systems (some with CAD elements, others using operational research techniques) and an eye for detail are essential. Good IT skills are important, but full training will be given. Company: Chiltern Railways Position: Materials Manager Location: Aylesbury Salary: £35-40,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

As Materials Manager, you will be responsible for materials provision and stores management at all Chiltern Railways’ engineering sites, improving performance and delivery of key suppliers, as well as developing the stores team and the team processes. You will need to work withing the budget for resources, systems and services and you will need to have demonstrable experience in managing a team, managing budgets successfully, and excellent numerical, communication and PC skills.
