COMMUNITY COMMUNITY MONROE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT n THROUGH MAY 1

PROJECT KEYS ABCD C

ity Commissioner Clayton Lopez, pictured at right, posts a door hanger pro-

moting Keys ABCD Community- wide Clean-Up Weekend, April 29 to May 1. Volunteers from across the city are working the weekend to ensure more than 10,000 door hangers are posted on homes and businesses as part of the Keys Ac- tion to Break the Cycle of Dengue Project. A survey of Keys’ proper- ties conducted in November showed 1 in 5 properties was breeding the species of mosquito that can carry dengue. All resi- dents and businessowners are asked to take 15 minutes during the clean-up weekend to eliminate standing water in and around

their properties where mosquitoes like to breed and overturn or cover containers that can collect water from rains, sprinklers, hoses, wa- tering cans, spray bottles and other sources of irrigation. For more information on Keys ABCD, call (305) 809-5612.
