Transportation Director Carl Carter has accomplished this with the district’s support and his team’s

employees, regardless of experience, with a comprehensive training program that exceeds both state and federal require- ments. We further instill a sense of being pro-active for the safety of our students,” said Carter. Carter describes Allen’s transporta-
tion employees, known as the “A Team,” as motivated and highly effective in the transportation field with the knowledge, skills and understanding that fosters pro- fessionalism in all new employees. Tis includes partner- ships with the Dallas FBI for training on terrorist and hostage situations. Allen ISD also collaborates with the Allen Fire De- partment for fire and rescue, first aid and A.E.D. training and with the Allen Police Department, which offers crossing guard certification and training sessions with the local S.W.A.T. “Other experts have provided, at no
additional cost to the district, training in bicycle and pedestrian safety, special education laws and regulations, manag- ing student behavior, avoiding road rage, severe weather preparedness, and com- munication skills,” added Carter. “Allen ISD’s transportation program provides a safe environment for all employees and students.” ■
