WELCOME TO TOUR TWO WELCOME TO THE TOUR 2
As always Tour Two is the players’ favourite, combining a trip to Hinckley Island Hotel along with the ever popular Festival of Pool competitions.
We startwith the Tour and then the Club event for the amateurs plus U.K. Professional Challenge.
Starting on Saturday, we see the introduction of the Open event for Festival of Pool players and to top it off we have the ever popular Barcelo Doubles competition involving all of the entrants to the weekend.
And just for good measure we also have the World Championship Qualifiers for four places at the Blackpool finals in June.
It is good to see that the recession is not causing us too much problem with Festival of Pool numbers which are up again.
However, this is not surprising. For only £120, players receive two nights’ accommodation plus entry into the £4,200 Barcelo Open and the £7,400 Barcelo doubles.
It’s also good to see previous Tour members and new faces returning to play in the Festival which is, without doubt, the number one amateur event on the pool calendar.
Entry figures are looking good. We have received more entrants since Tour One which gives us an opportunity to further increase the prize fund from Tour Three onwards.
Indeed, there will be an increase on both Tour and Club events. Exact figures will be announced after the executivemeeting at Tour Two. As with our policy since the Tour started, we are a non-profit making association. Any

additional monies that come in will be used to increase the prize funds.
Tour Two also sees a qualifier for the World Championships with four members receiving entry to the individual event and three nights’ accommodation.
But the real excitement for this Tour is the introduction of World Pool magazine which will include our own Propool Magazine along with articles from countries around the world.
Our partners in this venture are the English Pool Association, supported by theW.E.P.F.

We have opened a channel in all areas of the world where pool enthusiasts can read how the Professionals are doing.
This is already proving to be of interest to advertisers and potential sponsors who want to reach the vast number of 8-Ball Pool Players throughout the world.
Now, there is no need to look at other cue sport magazines, which have only an occasionalmention of our sport.We nowhave our very own magazine dedicated only to Pool players.
